With travel still on the down-low due to Covid being very much around; we are finding more and more people are wanting to make their home an oasis, their own getaway retreat. We are noticing our clients are wanting to be bold and daring with their furniture and decor selections, putting their individuality into the pieces they buy for their home, which is something we love to encourage in our projects. We sat down with our interior designers to ask them their 2022 interior design predictions, and well, if they are on the mark, I am so excited to see the new and renovated homes to come out of 2022.
Bold and Beautiful - 2022 Colour Trend
Neutral colours like your whites and grey's will continue to stay staple to home design, however this year we expect to see people coming out of their comfort zone. Bold and daring colours are going to be gracing the new and renovated homes of 2022 and we could not be more excited. Get ready to see gorgeous yellows, cinnamon and turmeric tones, bottle greens and ocean blue wall colours, accent pieces, and statement furniture pieces.

Sculptured Decor and Furniture
As people become more in tune with their individuality, the pieces that grace their home are sculptural in nature. We are going to notice a lot more products that have curved lines, with furniture becoming more abstract, where your guests ask, is that really a chair. We are also noticing our suppliers to be exhibiting retro style pieces, think 1960s style, which is also something we are excited to see be incorporated into modern day design.

Biophilic design
Biophilic design is a new way to harness this innate human need in order to create natural environments for us to live, work and learn. Design that connects us to nature is proven to inspire us, boost our productivity and even contribute to a stronger sense of well-being. Not every space can be designed to incorporate all the principles of biophilic design, but there are often many contributory elements that will collectively enhance the interior and the well-being of those within it. It’s more than just the addition of a pot plant or two! Natural light, vegetation, good air quality, living walls, natural textures, materials and nature views will provide a positive impact. It’s necessary to bring the outdoors in and create indoor environments that reference nature in both obvious and subtle ways.

Design continues to evolve with new advances in technology. A smart home gives you the convenience of controlling and automating every device and appliance at home, it takes care of your safety and security needs and conserves energy and saves cost. Through incorporating technology into your home, you are in control of the way you live.
